Jennifer Flynn, LLMSW

I began my education in Social Work after observing, as well as directly experiencing, the difficulty that some individuals face when trying to access the help and resources that they need. I have a passion for helping others, especially in assisting individuals to gain the skills and resources they need to be able to help themselves. Taking a person-centered approach to counseling, I strive to meet each client where they are at and tailor sessions around each individual client. 

I have experience working with children, teens, adults, and seniors, and have worked with individuals experiencing a variety of concerns, including: adjustment disorders, school/educational issues, family issues, grief and loss, behavioral issues (both child and adult behaviors), anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use, fears/phobias, and ADHD. I have experience using a variety of treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, Motivational Interviewing, Psychotherapy, Art Therapy, and Psychoeducation. 

On a personal note, I am a lifelong resident of the Great Lakes Bay Region and am proud to call this area home. I am a mother to one daughter and two fur-babies. I love traveling, music, any arts and crafts, cooking, and spending quality time with my family. I enjoy working with children, connecting with them via Play Therapy and Art Therapy. I identify as a fierce ally and am passionate about gender, equality, and LGBTQIA issues.
